La Raza Lawyers Urged to Participate in Evaluation of Judicial Candidates; 5 Sitting Judges Challenged in Upcoming Election
From the County Bar: This year, judicial elections are slated for several departments in the San Diego Superior Court. The SDCBA's Judicial Evaluation Committee (JEC) will be working to provide a comprehensive assessment of each of the judicial candidates. Because there is often little information available publicly about judicial candidates, your feedback is important to the JEC's efforts to help voters make informed decisions. To assist in the JEC's efforts, please fill out a short online survey at:
www.sdcba.org/jecsurvey.   You may also fill out a pdf version of the survey and return to the SDCBA Bar Center on or before April 2, 2010.  The Judicial Evaluation Committee follows a confidential evaluation process, actively seeking information from a wide variety of sources. The committee does not compare opposing candidates and neither endorses nor opposes the election of specific candidates, but rather evaluates each candidate on his or her individual merit based on the standards set forth in the survey and submits its ratings in a report to the SDCBA's Board of Directors. If you have any questions, please call the SDCBA Bar Center at 619.231.0781.
